The lightweight alloy construction is anything but light duty. Own a little piece of history today.

In 2011 the 1911-22 was selected as Field & Stream magazine’s Best Handgun of the year. An overview, provided by Field & Stream is below.
Best New Handgun: Browning 1911-22 A1 — In the early 1900s jungle warfare in the Philippines exposed the inadequacies of the .38 revolver and sent the U.S. Army on a search for an official large-caliber semiautomatic service sidearm. After a famed government test in 1910 when it fired 6,000 rounds in two days without a malfunction, the single test gun being dunked in a water bucket when it overheated, John Moses Browning’s “Automatic Pistol, Caliber .45, M1911†became that sidearm.
Now, in honor of the 100th anniversary of a great firearm, Browning has come out with a new scaled-down version in .22 Long Rifle, the 1911-22 A1. We used Remington 40-grain .22 Target rounds to test-fire the gun, albeit somewhat less than 6,000 times in a row. The best performance was a 21â„2-inch five-shot group fired from a rest at 25 yards. Though it has a heavy factory trigger, for plinking or for teaching a kid to shoot, the 1911-22 A1 has a lot of potential. -T.M.Category : PistolsType : PistolAction : SingleCaliber : 22 Long RifleBarrel Length : 3.6″Capacity : 10+1Safety : Manual Thumb/GripGrips : Brown CompositeSights : FixedWeight : 15 ozFrame Finish : Blued

Worth the money
Posted by Cyburban on Dec 30th 2013
This little gem is a ton of fun at the range. Even with cheap ammo that doesn’t cycle well through other 22s, this Browning sets anything I put in it with no FTE or misfires. Really great gun that got my wife interested in shooting.

Great Pocket Gun

It has a Great Feel and is a Blast to shoot. It almost feels too light at first (About one pound) but you get used to it when your arm does not get tired. No problems with Jams, Cycles perfectly. I wish they included a second Magazine as it only came with one.

Superb Quality
Posted by E on Jan 19th 2013
Although this pistol is expensive by .22 standards I can assure you that the quality is worth the price. I have put about 300 rounds through it with no hiccups. The sites are rudimentary but for a fun pistol to throw rounds down range it’s not that big of a deal. The fit and finish follow Brownings quality reputation, when you hold it in your hand you know you’re holding something that will last years and years and provide extensive amounts of joy for you and whomever you shoot with. Great for new shooters or those who don’t handle recoil well such as myself because of a badly broken wrist in my past. Holsters are difficult to find I only found 1 made for this pistol but if you don’t plan on carrying it at all then you don’t need to really worry about that. Overall it’s a beautiful pistol and it’s manufactured quality cannot be beat. 5 out of 5.
