This time Springfield’s engineers have outdone themselves: defying the laws of physics, adding material where needed, shaving it away where it’s not . . . cramming 14 rounds of 45ACP punch into a polymer frame that is not perceptibly larger than the one they use for their 9mm and 40 cal. XDs.

This XD 45 has a 5 inch barrel, 13+1 round capacity, black finish and comes with the XD gear system*.

worthy firearm

First day of firing my 45 tactical. Over 400 rounds through it with only two times FTL.however each time this happened was when my wife was firing it.she admitted to the limp wrist.shoots very well. A little gun powder from time to time on right forearm. So! Easy 5" groupings at 30 yards. I love my 1911s! Shoots just as well if not better. I am paritial to the 45 so perhaps im biased a bit to the lunky rounds. One thing is the trigger pull. I found it to be lighter than the glock 22 but a bit too much travel and reset.overall very nice gun! I feel that now that i fired it that will install the powder river match trigger kit myself. Around $130. I just like a quicker reset. Overall performance out of the box is awesome fun.cool 45 ! Bang for buck also very good. I would recommend to a friend!

I bought my springfield 5" in 2007 and I know i’ve shot at least a tousand rounds through it and it has never jammed very easy to clean and all around a very great gun I would recommend this gun to anyone its perfect.

I bought this springfield 5" .45 as a duty weapon for the 14 shot in a .45acp. I am 1911 man, been that way all my life, own every knid of colt out there but this springfield may be my most favorite sidearm today! It IS acurate beyond my expectations and more so, the more I shoot it the more I love the way it shoots. It is the first handgun that has actually improved my shooting, placing tighter groups on the target. The point and shoot thing Springfield figured out is no lie, I’m not sure how they figured that out but the Springfield xd 5" .45 IS all it claims to be and then some right out of the box. The only reason I scored it a 5 is because there isnt a 6! Thank you Springfield.

This was one of the first guns i bought and is hands down the nicest shooting handgun I’ve ever shot. It is very accurate straight from the box and I’ve never had a jam in the several hundred rounds I’ve put through it.

I’ve had one of these for four years and couldn’t be happier with it. It is accurate, fires as fast as you can pull the trigger, never misfires, and has little recoil. Easy to clean. A real winner.
