Handsome and Accurate, for 20 Years and Counting. Ruger® M77® Mark II Target rifles are time-tested, bolt-action, special-application rifles at a great value. These rifles feature a matte stainless steel finish that resists corrosion. The heavy contour, hammer-forged barrel with target crown provides long-range accuracy shot after shot. The wide, target forend gives stability on sandbags or other support surfaces. Its greatest value comes from the features that have defined the M77 Mark II family of rifles for the last 20 years. With a one-piece bolt that has proven to be one of the strongest on the market, integral scope bases which can never shoot loose, and a diagonally angled forend screw that adds accuracy by securely pulling the barreled action down into the handsome, black laminate stock for accurate shooting, the M77 Mark II Target rifle proves its value as a workhorse in the field and at the range.
UNIQUE TWO-STAGE TARGET TRIGGER featuring a short “take-up” stage, followed by a crisp, light target pull withno creep or overtravel.

HINGED SOLID-STEEL FLOORPLATE for easy unloading without having to chamber each cartridge and a patented latchthat is flush with the trigger guard to avoid accidental dumping of cartridges.
THREE-POSITION SAFETY is easily accessible and allows the shooter to lock the bolt or to load and unload the riflewith the safety engaged.
PATENTED INTEGRAL SCOPE MOUNTS, machined directly on the solid-steel receiver provide a stable mountingsurface for scope rings, eliminating a potential source of looseness and inaccuracy in the field (scope rings included FREE).

“The 6.5 Creedmoor resulted from a conversation in 2007 at Camp Perry between Hornady Senior Ballistician Dave Emary and Dennis DeMille, general manager of Creedmoor Sports and 2005 NRA National High Power Champion, about the ideal match cartridge. DeMille suggested a list of characteristics, including match-grade accuracy, a high-ballistic coefficient (BC) bullet, low recoil, good barrel and brass life, moderate chamber pressure, wide availability, affordable and a 2.800-inch overall length for feeding from short-action magazines. Emary took DeMille’s list back to Hornady and used it to begin development of a new cartridge.
Emary selected 6.5 mm for the new round because of the available selection of 0.264-inch-diameter match projectiles, all of which offer high ballistic coefficients and excellent accuracy.” By Stanton Wormley, Jr., American Rifleman Magazine March 2009

This is a great gun for new or experienced shooters. sub moa groups all day long with factory ammo and sub 1/2 moa with hand loads as long as you do your part. The kick is minimal. I purchased the Varmint/Target for a bench gun and a predator for the jeep. I recommend these highly!

Sub 1" Gun

Awesome gun so far.
This gun shoots .54" groups with a hand loaded cartridge I Developed. You will need a 1000$ + Scope to get this gun to show its true colors. A new trigger helps but glass bedding this stock definitely helped. Best long range gun for the money….
Kicks like a mule, and best if you want a bench rest gun. A little much to try and climb a tree with.
